Good morning everyone and welcome to Scrap N Grow. I am so excited to share this week’s Dazzling Divas Design Team Challenge #5 project hosted by Monica Weaver over at Add A Little Dazzle. Monica provided each of us Dazzling Divas design team designers with the inspiration photo pictured below.

Dazzling Divas Design Team Challenge #5

What a beautiful holiday table setting! This week’s inspiration photo color palette inspired my project, an elegant, metal embossed wine tube, pictured below.

The wine tube pictured above features Add A Little Dazzle Golden Glimmer and Wondrous White metal sheets.

I altered a not so pretty patterned wine tube on clearance from my local craft store. I first painted a base coat of gold acrylic paint to the outside of the wine tube and set aside to dry. In the meantime, I metal embossed and sanded strips of Golden Glimmer and Wondrous White Add A Little Dazzle metal sheets using Provocraft’s 6×12 Damask Brocade embossing folder and sanded each sheet to reveal the gorgeous silver color underneath. I then applied double sided adhesive tape to the backside of each metal embossed sheet, peeled away the adhesive backing paper, and adhered to wine tube. Lastly, I burnished the edges to ensure no sharp edges.

I love how elegant this wine tube turned out. All that is left is to place a fine bottle of wine in the tube. A fine bottle of wine makes a great hostess gift for the upcoming holidays. This also would be a great idea for New Year’s Eve or for a housewarming gift.

Note: I apologize that I forgot to take pictures of the process that would show you the ugly pattern beneath the metal. If I have enough requests, I can certainly make another one and intentionally photograph the process.

I encourage you now to head on over to the Dazzling Divas Challenge Blog #5 to see how my fellow Dazzling Divas designers interpreted this week’s inspiration photo, as well as to learn how you too can join in on the fun and be entered for a chance to win a cool prize package. Do you love creating with Add A Little Dazzle metal? If so…we would love to have you join our Dazzling Divas design team. Monica Weaver, owner of Add A Little Dazzle would like to add additional designers to our team. It is a lot of fun. Thank you so much for stopping by. I will be back tomorrow with another ‘Countdown to Christmas 2013′ holiday inspired project. See you then!
