Good evening everyone. Hope your week is off to a good start after a holiday weekend. I am happy to tell you that we had made continued progress yet on our basement finish. Final electrical is completed. Our plumbing fixtures were delivered yesterday and our appliances for our wet bar/small kitchen will be delivered on Friday. Fingers crossed, that our counter tops will also be started this weekend.
A few posts back, I shared with you two poppy canvases that my neighbor and I had started. Click here for original post. Today, I will share my completed sample canvas, pictured below.
I really enjoyed painting this canvas. I worked on it a bit at a time in order to allow each layer of paint to completely dry. I listed my paint colors below.
Background: Cerulean Blue (Golden), Cobalt Blue (Golden), Light Blue Permanent (Liquitex), and Ultramarine Blue (Golden)
Poppies: Cadmium Yellow Light (Golden), Cadmium Orange Hue (Golden), Indian Yellow Hue (Golden), Vivid Red Orange (Golden), Alizarian Crimson Hue (Golden), Cadmium Red Hue (Windsor Newton), Cadmium Red Medium (Golden), Napthol Red Light (Golden), Pyrrole Red (Golden), and Dioxazine Purple (golden)
Stems: Chromium Oxide Green (Golden), Green Gold (Golden), Permanent Green Light (Golden), Sap Green Hue (Golden), and Vivid Lime Green (Liquitex)
I used Mixing White (Grumbacher) and Titanium White (Golden) many times to create a softer color.
This canvas was so much fun. I am eager to start another. I included a few more close ups below.
Hopefully soon, my neighbor Emily, will be able to complete her canvas.
Thank you so much for taking time to stop by. I greatly appreciate every visit and would love for you to take time to leave me a comment. Until next time…have a fabulous day!
